The DEEPINFAR technical support team, equipped with the "Hetun IV-A" ROV, arrived at the Gezhouba Hydroelectric Station to assist the Yangtze River Design Institute in conducting routine dam inspection tasks. The Gezhouba Hydroelectric Station is the first large-scale hydroelectric station on the Yangtze River in China and serves as a counter-regulation and navigation step for the Three Gorges Project.

The DEEPINFAR team uses the self-developed‘Hetun IV-A’ ROV, equipped with two high-definition LED lights and an M900 sonar. Using the sonar, the team was able to detect the presence of cracks in the dam by looking at the images shown on the sonar and the corresponding locations on the drawings. With rich experience, skillful technical control, and tacit cooperation, the ‘Hetun IV-A’ ROV captured clear and high-quality images and transmitted back accurate survey results to support the subsequent work of the Yangtze River Design Institute.
